Art Tip of the Day Number 5: Butterflies

In this art tip we are going to explore the beautiful flying flower; the butterfly. There is a saying “Just
when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” Butterflies spread beauty wherever they go. We are going to look at some famous butterfly pictures by master artists and then talk about some fun activities for older students and younger students. Many times in art we always use a white background. Recently I went into a discount store and noticed that the scrapbook tablets were

Art Tip of the Day Number 4: The Moon in Art

With the current event of the blood moons, people are noticing the beauty of the moon in art. The
moon reflects the sun. I had someone tell me the analogy of the moon reflects the light of the sun in

Joy of Visual Manna Paint Parties

You can schedule a wonderful Joy of Visual Manna Paint party for your Bible Study, Birthday Party, or Mission Group Activity. This is perfect for an outreach to bring people into the church. All ages can create beautiful paintings with a Biblical scene. There are four parties and each party includes two beautiful finished paintings to share with others. Here is a sample of the lesson:

When you are looking at master art, you see many different styles of art about a single topic; the tree. We are going to look at trees by a variety of different artists in a variety of styles. The picture below is called “Hunter in the White Mountains near Glen House” by Albert Bierdstadt. He is a very famous early American landscape artist. Notice the color of the tree in the foreground.
