Art Tip of the Day Number 3: Taking a Walk

Having an art day and going for a walk can be lots of fun. Whether you walk in the winter, summer, spring or fall, you can enjoy the path you take. We are going to look at some wonderful master works of art about people taking a walk in nature. We can talk about scale, color, and atmospheric perspective. The picture below is of country roads by M.M. Jacobi. The sky is somewhat darker at the top of the sky. The hills in the distance are lighter. Do you see that the light is coming from the right side of the sky? The road is a one point perspective. When you walk down a straight road, it looks a lot like it meets at a point in the distance. When you look at a railroad track in the distance, it looks like it meets at a point. Everything gets smaller in the distance. Enjoy this complimentary lesson on walking in art! Art Tip of the Day Number 5: Butterflies

In this art tip we are going to explore the beautiful flying flower; the butterfly. There is a saying “Just
when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” Butterflies spread beauty wherever they go. We are going to look at some famous butterfly pictures by master artists and then talk about some fun activities for older students and younger students. Many times in art we always use a white background. Recently I went into a discount store and noticed that the scrapbook tablets were
very inexpensive. One had shades of gray, brown, black and white and the paper had a fine tooth or texture to it. Enjoy this complimentary lesson on butterflies! Click HERE for the lesson.

Art Tip of the Day Number 4: The Moon in Art

With the current event of the blood moons, people are noticing the beauty of the moon in art. The
moon reflects the sun. I had someone tell me the analogy of the moon reflects the light of the sun in
the same way we reflect the love of God if we know him. There are several wonderful pictures of the moon that make terrific art project ideas. Please enjoy this complimentary lesson on The Moon in Art! Click HERE for the lesson.
